There are three parts to this assignment which all have to completed;
1. Describe the design development cycle
2. Develop and produce a final piece which tells a story through a sequence of images (minimum three pictures)
2. Develop and produce a final piece which tells a story through a sequence of images (minimum three pictures)
3. Develop and produce a stop motion film in groups of two/three
A proposal must be written for both our individual work and group work, these proposals must be at least 500 words.
Throughout the assignment we must document all our working progress and evidence developments in our ideas and experimentations with final image layouts and editing.
Initial Ideas
My initial ideas for this assignment was to photograph one person growing up by using different generations from the same family so it looked like the same person (or as close as could get) however I then changed my mind and decided to photograph different generations of people that don't look too similar. After some more thought I then decided to totally change my idea because I was struggling to find people of different ages that all looked slightly similar, I then decided to photograph my friend competing her horse at the Hunter Trials at Eland Lodge, I am going to tell a story through her cross country round.

Individual Proposal
In this assignment i am going to be photographing horses , if possible i am going to be photographing the same horse and rider combination so you can see their progression round the course. I have chosen this theme as i think it is a good idea as it shows the progression of the cross country round through a sequences of images made into a story.
I am going to be using a Canon EOS 10D to shoot my images, i am going to be shooting on digital as I find it is a lot easier than film and it produces better quality images overall, it is also quicker to get the images as you only have to download them onto the computer where as if I were to use colour film I would have to get them developed which would take a couple of hours and is very expensive.
I am going to produce photos that could possibly be seen in a gallery, I am going to make a collage of 6-8 final images, showing the progression of horse and rider throughout the warm up and their competitive rounds.
I am going to be photographing a selection of horse and riders at the Eland Lodge Hunter Trials on 1st June, I will photograph a selection of 6 riders and then choosing the best set of images to use for my story.
I m going to be using my own camera so I will not need to worry about borrowing one from college, I will be using my own 70-300m lense so that I have a large enough zoom to get a clear image of jumps far away from me.
The dangers with this shoot would be if it rained and my camera equipment got wet, if it began to rain
I am going to research portrait photographers who have photographed different age ranges of models, I am going to be using full body shots so i'll need to find photographers who shot full body shots as well.

Group Proposal
For our group work we will be taking photos of laces unlacing themselves, we have chosen to do this theme because we have a lot of ideas that we can use to make the stop motion longer and more interesting to watch.
For this task we will be shooting with a digital camera because it will be a lot easier to to shoot the stop motion using a digital camera as awe will be able to look through the photos that we have taken and see if the stop motion will work well and that everything flows with a smooth motion.
The photos that we will take will be very gradual, showing the progress of the shoes unlacing themselves. The technique of using the stop motion is typically used/shown in films, so our work could be associated with this, the purpose of this stop motion will be for entertainment.
The materials that we will be needing will mainly be shoes and laces, we will also be using different locations to show the laces going off on their own adventure, the equipment we will be using is a digital camera and a tripod and we will b using Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 to create the stop motion.
The risk assessment for this task could be that if something goes wrong in the stage of photographing the sequence then we will have to start all over again, to reduce this risk we will need to be extra careful when moving the equipment so that the sequence works properly.
The research that we will be looking at for this task will be different types of stop motion films, mainly ones that are similar to the one that we are going to make so that we can get ideas from them and see how we can make ours look more professional.
